🏒 Ice Hockey Data API Live scores, odds & history
Live scores, period-by-period results, penalties, standings, odds and historical ice hockey data across major leagues and international competitions, delivered at sub-50ms latency over REST, WebSocket and webhooks. One normalized schema, so your code doesn't need a special case for every league's overtime rules.
The sport changes shape mid-game. Your feed has to keep up.
Hockey looks simple on a scoreboard, but a score alone isn't enough to settle a bet, rank a team or run a fantasy slate. These are the details that break naive integrations.
Regular season ≠ playoffs
In the NHL regular season, a tied game goes to a 5-minute 3-on-3 overtime, then a shootout. In the playoffs it's full 20-minute sudden-death periods. Every result carries how it ended: regulation, overtime or shootout.
Points systems vary
The NHL awards 2 points for a win and 1 for an overtime or shootout loss. IIHF tournaments use 3 / 2 / 1 / 0. Standings come pre-computed per competition so you never hard-code a rulebook.
Strength, not just score
5-on-5, power play, 4-on-4, 3-on-3 and empty-net situations all change the odds and the stats. Live events carry the game state, so you can show who is on a power play and for how long.
Shootout goals are special
The shootout winner is credited with one extra goal in the final score, which is why many books settle totals on regulation-plus-overtime goals only. Results expose period scores and the result type, so settlement logic stays explicit.

What's happening in hockey right now.
Hockey's calendar has changed this year. The longer NHL schedule alone adds games to every slate you'll serve. Checked October 2026.
An 84-game season starts in September
The 2026-27 season opened on September 29 with champion Carolina raising its Stanley Cup banner against Florida, and runs through April 10 across 1,344 games. Under the new CBA, teams also have to stay under the salary cap in the playoffs.
Outdoor and European games
The Heritage Classic in Winnipeg is set for October 25, three outdoor games are on the calendar, and Carolina plays Seattle in Helsinki on November 12 and 14 as part of four European games. Venue and time zone vary, so use UTC start times.
22 clubs, season runs to May
The KHL's regular season runs September 5 to March 20, with playoffs reaching May 2027. The league has dropped its traditional opening-day Cup match, and playoff pairings now follow the overall regular-season table.
Olympic gold decided in 3-on-3 overtime
The USA beat Canada 2-1 in overtime at the Milan Cortina Olympics in February 2026 for its first men's gold in 46 years. International finals are a reminder that overtime format changes by tournament.
Hockey markets, normalized.
Books price the same game in different ways. Orbistats maps them onto one schema so your product reads one market name, not one per bookmaker.
Moneyline
Who wins the game, overtime and shootout included. Settles on the final result, not regulation.
3-way (regulation)
Home, draw or away after 60 minutes. A tie after regulation is a "draw" for settlement, even though the game itself continues.
Puck line / spread
The standard hockey spread, typically ±1.5 goals. Available as spreads and handicaps in the Odds API.
Totals
Over/under on total goals. Hockey lines usually sit around the mid-5s to 6s, and they move quickly on goalie news.
Player props
Goals, points, assists and shots on goal. Props depend on lineups and goalie confirmations, which is why lineups are part of the feed.
Outright markets
Stanley Cup, conference and division winners, and other season-long markets, with line movement tracked over time.
Market availability varies by competition and bookmaker. Settlement rules differ between books, so always check each book's own rules before settling bets.
